(Population approximately 6,221) The City of High Springs will be accepting applications for the position of City Manager until April 18, 2019. Salary range $80,000 – $95,000 depending on qualifications. A Bachelor’s Degree required with a Master’s degree preferred. Previous financial experience is preferred, along with five years of municipal government experience. Educational emphasis in public administration also preferred. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Professional managerial or governmental financial experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the education and experience requirements. Work experience must show successful professional management, problem solving skills, interpersonal relations skills, and experience in fiscal management. It is required that the successful applicant live within the city limits of High Springs. The City Manager reports to and works under the supervision of a five-member city commission. The City Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the city which provides full services including Police and Fire protection, water, wastewater collection and treatment, parks/recreation and street maintenance. Invitation to Bid
Tree Removal/Canopy Restoration
The City of High Springs is now accepting bids for the removal of marked / [1] dead trees located in the wooded area of our Sports Complex (Exhibit A). In addition to the removal of trees[2] , stumps are[3] to be removed / ground with the work area returned to grade.[4] Additionally, a park like grade canopy of 15’ is to be established in the entire Exhibit A area for trees that remain. [5] Debris, including the debris currently on the ground, are[6] to be hauled off to the other side of the parcel and stacked for disposal[7] . (Exhibit B).[8] The City will be responsible for final disposal. [9] Trees / stumps scheduled for removal [10] are marked with an X in spray paint. All growth, with a diameter of less than 4”, [11] below the desired 15 foot canopy will need to be removed. The debris dump area will be marked with spray paint as well.
Licensed and insured tree removal companies are invited to submit bids for the desired work. [12] Bids should include an estimate of time required (start to finish) along with an estimated start date. [13] Our desired project date would run from 3/25-3/29 or 4/1-4/5.

The City of High Springs is now accepting bids for the removal of approximately thirteen (13) trees, located at various locations throughout the City. Specifications and a list of tree locations are available by contacting Public Works at (386) 454-2134 or online at www.highsprings.us. Licensed and insured tree removal companies are invited to submit prices for the removal of the trees, to include: cutting down and prompt removal of logs, limbs, debris, and grinding the stumps to grade.
Interested bidders should submit sealed bids, marked, “Tree Bids,” along with proof of licensing and worker’s compensation insurance to: City Manager, City of High Springs, 23718 W US HWY 27, High Springs, Florida 32643, no later than 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
